Titre : The neural basis of language production as we speak

Résumé : When speaking, the conceptual content of the message to be
expressed constrains possible word candidates, thereby facilitating
lexical access and word production. This situation can be studied by
means of picture naming (visually guided), in which the picture stands
for the concept to be expressed. However, in natural conversation, the
concept to be expressed is generated via the ongoing context. I will
present a series of studies examining visually guided and contextually
guided naming using electrophysiology and lesion-symptom methods,
providing evidence with respect to their neural overlap and distinctions.
