Manifestations scientifiques Prix et distinction

Prize obtained by Yann COELLO, university professor SCALab

The Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques awarded the Dagnan-Bouveret prize on November 7, 2022 to Yann Coello, director of the UMR 9193 Sciences Cognitives et Sciences Affectives (SCALab) and of the FR CNRS 2052 Sciences et Cultures du Visuel (FR SCV). The Dagnan-Bouveret prize, intended to reward scientific advances in psychology, is awarded on the proposal of the Philosophy section of the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques.

Professor at the University of Lille, Yann Coello has devoted his career to the study of the relationship between cerebral body representations and cognitive functioning. In particular, he has explored the relationships between sensorimotor processes and spatial representations. He has recently proposed an innovative theory to account for the link between physiological reactions in peripersonal space and the spatial organization of social interactions.

Each year, the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques rewards experienced scientists or young researchers at the beginning of their career. This year, the institution handed out all of the prizes it awarded in 2022 during the ceremony on November 7 under the dome of the Institut de France.
